Christmas

hey! I did ok at my piano recital. I messed up on my songs but that's ok. I'm so excited because there's like a week until Christmas!! I love Christmas. but guys remember that Christmas isn't about presents because I know we all love getting presents but you can't forget that Christmas is celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. He should be first on your mind during the Christmas season. Sure getting presents is fun but that's not what it's about. life isn't about material things because it's all going to burn up one day and we'll be with Jesus. If you don't get what you wanted for Christmas you shouldn't be mad or sad because it doesn't matter in the big picture of life. Nothing matters except for Christ Jesus and that's what Christmas is about. Never forget that.

Do Everything for God's Glory

I don't have much to say today. My piano concert is tomorow night and I'm really nervous but I'll trust God to keep my nerves down and let me play to His glory.
Just remember to keep God first in everything you do and do everything for His glory because He deserves all our praise.

Comfort in our time of need

here's some of my favorite verses:

"what time I am afraid I will trust in Thee. In God, whose word I praise, In God I trust I will not be afraid. what can mortal man do to me?"
- Psalm 56:3-4

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God. To those who are the called according to His Purpose. For whom He forknew He also predestined to the image of His son that He might be the first born among many"
- Romans 8:28-29

"I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation"

"For by grace are you saved through faith and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God. not of works lest any man should boast"
- Ephesians 2:8-9

Psalm 56:3-4 tells me that I shouldn't be afraid of anything of this world because in Christ it can't hurt me. This verse gives me joy when I am afriad because it helps me not be afraid anymore and makes me focus on God

Romans 8:28-29 helps me when things aren't going to good. I fell off my bike 8 months ago and got 10 stitches in my chin, broke my finger, got 1 stitch in my leg, and had scrapes all over. It was a really hard time for me because I could barely move and I felt so miserable and the only thing that really helped me was knowing that God had a plan for it to happen and that He knew from the foundation of the world that that was going to happen to me. I remember the first thing that I thought of when I fell off my bike was not the pain but it was that God had a plan and that somehow it would work out for my good and I think it did. it was then that I started realizing how much God has done for me and I felt more and more convicted of my sin. I had stoped listening to secular music for a while and praying more. But then I started doing all that stuff again like listening to the secular music and just having a bad attitude and thinking only of myself and not God. With my Dad being the pastor of our church I always knew the right things to say and stuff so I always just thought that I was saved. but just recently was when I felt a big change in my life more than I ever have, and praise the Lord, I think he really saved me and I'm getting baptized soon.

Romans 1:16 should be the ideal verse for every Christian because we shouldn't be ashamed of His gospel and we should stand for the Truth

Ephesians 2:8-9 just gives us comfort because we know that we didn't do anything to deserve salvation but God was merciful and put His grace and love upon us. It was all His work so no one can brag or boast about what they have done for salvation because we can't do anything. it's all Christ

Be Thankful

We need to be more thankful for the things God has given us. Today I realized how much stuff I take for granted...We havn't been able to go out to eat as much as we used to and I never really thought of that as something really special because we did it all the time, but now I see that it's a privelage to do stuff like that. Also, I've been complaining about alot of things lately like how I need some new clothes for winter and in a since I do but I don't really NEED anything except for food and water. I mean, I can always wear a short-sleeve shirt with a jacket or a coat without having to buy a whole new winter wardrobe. God has blessed us in so many ways that we probably don't even think about at all. If there's something we REALLY are in need of God will provide it for us. He watches over His children and we should give Him glory and thank Him for everything He has given us because it's all His and He has just given it to us as a blessing.

life is short

I've been thinking lately...We are tremendously self-focused and usually don't think of anything other than ourselves or our problems that aren't even problems. We need to stop thinking about the little things because there's only one important thing in the entire world...and that's where you stand with God. You're either for Him or against Him, there's nothing in between. That's why we need to think about the more important questions like what's in your heart. Is the love of God in your heart? Do you feel a real change in your life? Life is short so you need to think about it now and search the scriptures. Matthew 28 says "go ye therefore and teach all nations" the word go in the greek is actually translated "as you are going" that means wherever you are try to set an example for Christ and witness to others for His glory. We don't have much time so we need to start now. Nothing else at all matters. your clothes don't matter, how big your house is or how much money you have doesn't matter, it doesn't matter if you have a bad hair day all that matters is if you have the love of Christ Jesus in your heart. With Him you don't have to worry about the little things because He will provide and everything works together for good to those that Love Him (Romans 8:28)
